Rainbow Read-A-Thon Finished!

It has been one hell of a week but I have managed to complete the rainbow read-a-thon! I have no idea how I was able to read six books in a week, it was a new record for me. I feel completely washed out, who knew you could read too much, because I certainly didn’t. I mean, I am actually really tired now after what felt like was a sprint of reading. Or maybe it was because I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning reading every day, then got up early to do it all over again.

So I read almost all of the books that I said I would read, apart from one small change. For my purple book I decided to read Cold Water by Gwendoline Riley instead of Postcards From The Heart by Ella Griffin. I was just really tired by Saturday and I wanted to read something short so I could just finish the read-a-thon. Which is what I did because Cold Water was only like 150 pages, where as Postcards From The Heart was around 400 pages, and I just didn’t know if i was going to be able to do it. You could say I took the easy route. But whatever, I’m still happy with what I read, and that’s what the read-a-thon was for, right? To enjoy yourself!

So here’s how my week went:

Monday: Finished reading Sinner, which I had already been reading since Friday

Tuesday: Started reading Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore, finished it that evening. Started reading Lament.

Wednesday: Finished reading Lament in the evening, started reading Fangirl.

Thursday: Finished with Fangirl.

Friday: Started reading A Long Way Down.

Saturday: Finished reading A Long Way Down, read Cold Water in one sitting.

Sunday: REST! (Too much reading, if there could ever be a thing).

So as you can see I read pretty much every day that week. And that’s not to say that I wasn’t busy because I was. I had to work this week so it was hard to squeeze in reading time. But I managed it and I’m so happy that I was able to accomplish this, it was really fun challenging myself to see how much I was able to read. So here is the finished list of all the books that I read this week:

Lament by Maggie Stiefvater(red)

Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater(orange)

Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan(yellow)

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell(green)

A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby(blue)

Cold Water by Gwendoline Riley(purple)

I will be reviewing all of these books over the coming week so you will see those posts popping up soon hopefully! If you participated in this read-a-thon please let me know how you got on and what books you read.

Happy reading 🙂

Rainbow Read-a-Thon TBR

So upon looking up all of my book-tubers on youtube I came across this read-a-thon. I was very excited, because I always seem to miss them when they’re happening. But it is not so this time. I have caught it and it looks to be a really cool one! I found out about it from Peruse Project, who put up a video of the books that she was going to read for it and it just got me really excited. Mainly because, with my recent book haul I now have many more colorful books that fit in perfectly with this read-a-thon. The read-a-thon was originally created by a bunch of book-tubers, which is just awesome really.

So what this read-a-thon is, is you pick six books that are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple(must be the spines). Or you can pick seven books, all of the same colour. You have from the 15th to the 22nd of June, which is Monday to Sunday, to read all of these books. To make it easier though, you can double up on some books. By this I mean that you can have a book that has say a blue background with purple writing, allowing you to knock off both of those colours.

The books that I have chosen are as follows(in order of colour):

So as you can see I have not taken the easier route, six books is a hell of a lot to read in a week. Who knows if I will read all of them, but I’m hoping I can get through some. I’ve already read one, so hopefully that will give me a good start to it. Since I will be spending this whole week with my nose buried in one book or another, I won’t be posting very much. I will do a wrap up of how things went with the read-a-thon some time at the end of the week and hopefully will have some reviews up.

Let me know if you’re participating and what your rainbow looks like, I am very curious!

Happy reading 🙂
